Gary Sanders Medal
The Gary Sanders Medal is named in honour of the former Gisborne and Woodend player who also represented the GDCA at Bendigo and Melbourne Country Weeks and KenMac Shield matches and was a driving force behind the successes of those carnivals. Gary or "Colonel" as he is known, also represented Victoria in the Australian Country Championships and played against international touring teams.
The medal was inaugurated in 2015/16 and winners of the award are as follows:
